The 4th Session of the 10th National People's Congress and the 4th Session of the 10th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference will begin on March 5th and March 3rd 2006 respectively in Beijing, People's Republic of China. Foreign journalists are welcome to cover these two meetings.

The Embassy of The People's Republic of China in the Kingdom of Thailand, as of today, February 13, starts to accept applications of Thai journalists and foreign journalists based in Thailand. Applicants are kindly requested to provide an introduction letter signed by the chief of the media organization, their C.V.s and background information of the media organization they represent. Please send the above information together with the enclosed application form to 02-2485895 (Enquiry telephone number: 01-6426806). The deadline for accepting the application is February 23.

The Chinese Embassy will notify the journalists concerned once the application is approved. Upon arrival inBeijing, journalists are advised to register at the Press Center of the 4th Sessions of the 10th NPC and CPPCC, for which two color passport photos are required. The Press Center (Tel: 0086-10-66184455) is located at the Xizhimen Hotel, No.172 Xizhimennei Street, Beijing, China. The deadline for applying for press cards is March 5th.
