On January 3, 2008, Chinese ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand H.E. Zhang Jiuhuan, sent  to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand the letter of condolences from the Chinese president H.E. Mr. Hu Jintao to H.M. King Bhumibhol Adulyadej of the Kingdom of Thailand on the passing away of H.R.H Princess Galyani Vadhana. The latter is as follows:

I was shocked to learn with great grief of the untimely passing away of Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana.
