Notice about Material Requirements for Application of Business and Tourist Visa to China

Since 15th July 2012 onwards, applicants for Business Visa ("F" visa) and Tourist Visa ("L" visa) should submit the following supporting documents:

1, Business Visa ("F" Visa)

An Invitation Letter or a Confirmation Letter of Invitation issued by a Duly Authorized Unit. Or an invitation letter issued by a non-authorized Chinese unit.

2,Tourist Visa ("L" Visa)

An Invitation Letter for Tourist Group or Tourist issued by a Duly Authorized Tourist Agency. Or an invitation letter issued by a non-authorized Chinese unit.

Non-authorized Chinese Unit refers to Chinese local government or a Chinese company, corporation, institution and individual other than Duly Authorized Unit.

All kinds of invitation letters mentioned-above should include the following items:

(1) Personal information of the invitee: name, gender, date of birth, etc.

(2) Information concerning the invitee's visit to China: purpose of the visit, date of arrival and leaving, places to visit, relationship between the applicant and the inviter, and who will bear the cost of the applicant in China.

(3) Information of the inviter: If invited by a unit, name of the unit, phone number, address, seal of the unit, and signature of its authorized representative or the inverter are required. If invited by an individual, the photocopy of inviter's ID, passport, visa or residence permit in China are required.

3,For the applicant with an invitation letter issued by a non-authorized Chinese unit, the following supporting and supplementary documents may be needed by the consular officer when necessary:

(1) Copy of business license of the inviter, contract, order and correspondence between inviter and invitee or the unit which invitee belongs to.

(2) Identity document of inviter, such as ID card, passport, visa or residence permit in China. supporting documents which can prove the relations between inviter and invitee.

(3) Supporting materials for Entry-Exit record and inter-city transport, itinerary, medical and personal accident insurance in China, personal savings, incomings or financial guarantees. The guarantee is calculated 100 USD per person per day and in accord with duration of stay in China.

4,Applicants for Tourist Visa without an invitation letter or traveling individually should submit the supporting materials under item 3(3).

5,Round-trip flight and accommodation bookings.

6,Please Note

(1) Generally, the invitation letter may be submitted as a fax, copy or printout. If necessary, the consular officer will ask the applicant to submit the original invitation letter, or to provide some supporting and supplementary documents, or schedule an interview.

(2) The application with any fake invitation letter or other fraud will be rejected.

(3) In the light of the specific conditions, the consular officer decides to issue visas with different validity, number of entries and duration of stay in China.
